Use SMART Learning Practices Throughout the Project

Introduce all team members to The SMART Learning 4.0® Framework. Teach them a little bit about this upgraded way to learn. Encourage them to get this App and to use it whenever they learn – alone, in a group, and when they help others learn.

Notice what learning stage the team is in related to its learning at the moment. Support the use of the SMART Learning Practices (there are 7) that are most relevant:

  • Hear the Call: Bring in this practice when the team needs to agree on or refresh what is driving the need to learn, develop, change.
  • Create Future Pull: Draw on this to help the team create or amp up its motivation and to become more aware of what members want to create together.
  • Search: Turn to this practice when the team needs to find the best resources to draw on so that they are using the most relevant information.
  • Connect the Dots: This practice occurs when the team creates learning and plans and schedules?
  • Mine for Gold: This practice helps team members – alone or together -- to use advanced techniques for processing information and experiences: concentrating, doing deeper learning, dealing with information distortion and bias, efficiently learning from a variety of resources?
  • Learn to Last: With this practice, team members benefit from and support each other to internalize better techniques for remembering, skill development, recognizing and updating attitudes and beliefs, being more creative learners?
  • Transfer to Life: teams must bring new knowledge, skills, and attitudes into daily life and work? Here is help to do this.
